Quadrants 2022: Reinvesting Profits to Achieve Sustainable Growth

This article belongs to a multi-part series about what to expect from Quadrants 2022.

With more than 160 businesses in the Volaris Group family, we continually strive to create an environment where networking and learning are accessible to our leaders at an intimate scale.

Our flagship learning event, Quadrants, is an example of how we help customize learning that suits our business leaders' needs. Participants at the September 2022 conference will be part of one of four tracks, based on their organization’s stage of growth. This programming strategy ensures we meet businesses where they are, while encouraging them to have conversations with colleagues facing similar challenges.

Portfolio Leader Tony DeSilvester is leading the track for leaders that are focusing on creating sustainable growth in an already profitable business. He shares what participants can expect.

The pursuit of growth means new challenges, teams, and personal development opportunities for businesses. We believe that achieving this growth is a source of pride that must be shared, recognized, rewarded, and celebrated.

1. What are the common challenges of leaders who attend your track?

This track will focus on common challenges with creating sustainable revenue growth. Concerns of businesses in this track revolve around investing in, mentoring, and educating employees, adopting strong engagement strategies with customers, and ultimately creating new technology solutions to solve more problems for both new and existing customers.

2. What's your experience with companies that belong to this track?

In my experience, a business in its infancy will typically focus on growing quickly and gaining market share. At some point, as part of the normal maturation process, the focus will shift to generating returns with an attempt to keep the growth progressing.

This stage of growth is where a lot of companies get stuck. In many of these cases, the business may be sound and generate respectable profits, while maintaining a reliable product and a strong customer base—but the growth engine tends to decelerate. Our track programming helps these companies overcome the growth challenge.

3. What sort of strategies might your track explore for the companies participating?

Strategies explored will include:

  • Establishing an innovation and ideation culture
  • Deeply involving customers when creating organic growth initiatives
  • Exploring elements of championing growth initiatives
  • Performing simple, quick, less expensive, yet highly effective experiments to create value
  • Creating education and mentoring programs to connect employees with available business growth opportunities
  • Maximizing the effect of working capital
  • Fair pricing strategies
  • Creating measurements and scorecards to validate the effectiveness of time, effort and funding spent

4. Why else should people be excited about your track?

Sessions in this track will feature our businesses and the leaders within them, who will provide detailed instruction and best practices on how they solved many of the sustainable growth problems noted above. Expect to see real world, practical illustrations, and examples.

The pursuit of growth means new challenges, teams, and personal development opportunities for businesses. We believe that achieving this growth is a source of pride that must be shared, recognized, rewarded, and celebrated.

5. What value do you think Quadrants brings to the Volaris community?

Quadrants allows our people the opportunity to connect with and learn from peers.  Those who network and leverage their connections to improve their businesses and themselves will be most successful at benefiting from the event.

Leaders may find themselves attending sessions that may not be immediately applicable to their business. However, down the road they may be able to reflect on these prior learnings to guide their path forward.

Last but not least, we make sure we have a lot of fun at Quadrants, too!
